So Jesus called a child to come and stand in front of them, and said, “I assure you that unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the Kingdom of heaven.”  (Matthew 18:2-3, Good News Translation)

What does it mean to “come as a child”? How are children different from adults?

I believe that, in general, children are more open and trusting than adults. Children know they still need help, while many adults think they can get along without God.

We at Panora UMC are blessed to have children who are learning about Jesus. Our children have the opportunity to learn the stories of the Bible in our FaithSeekers Sunday school. Sunday school meets at 9:30 AM every second, third and fourth Sunday during the school year.

Children are always welcome in worship, but every first and fifth Sunday, we offer Family Church, where children can experience all aspects of worship. including holy communion and a special message just for the children.

Many adults have told me that they get more out of the children’s message than out of my sermons.
